00:15
I'm in my home studio today before I disappear off to Orlando for an event.
00:19
If you're going to be in the audience for that, please do make sure that you come and say hello.
00:24
So what have we been up to?
00:25
Well, in the latest issue, we're looking at how you motivate your people through through chaos.
00:30
And look, I know that there is nothing more than chaos as being number one on organizations priority at the minute.
00:37
There is so much change, chaos and uncertainty.
00:39
It can seem difficult for us to actually make our people feel like they're connected to the challenges and opportunities that they're facing.
00:45
That's what this newsletter focuses on.
00:47
So let me walk you through it so you can get some of the good stuff from it.
00:51
First off, this is where this video will be right now, because I'm recording it right now.
00:55
This month's subscriber exclusive exclusive is 10 Silent Killers of Team Motivation.
00:59
The reason I think this is so important in this moment is that with a lot of change, chaos and uncertainty, it can be really difficult for leaders to make sure they're focusing on the soft things that build hard performance.
01:11
And by that I mean oftentimes we convince ourselves that it's salary that drives performance and results.
01:18
It's exciting.
01:21
What's the word?
01:22
Exciting.
01:22
Exciting promotion opportunities.
01:24
But we know that the research does not bear that out.
01:27
There are very many softer things that helps a person feel connected to the work that they're doing, even if they are going through an awful lot at home or at work.
01:35
These are the 10 things that kill team motivation.
01:38
And you need to start to think about them today as, ever.
01:40
This is a subscriber exclusive, so you're only getting it if you're watching this video right now, so make sure that you check it out.
01:46
Little summary of some of my travel.
01:48
Recently I've been in Jersey with Merc, one of our biggest clients.
01:51
For many, many years.
01:52
Merk has been a great, great partner.
01:53
They built some of our prosthetic hands and if you'd like to get involved in that, then Drop Me a Line hosted a virtual event for one of our clients in Edinburgh.
02:02
For that one, we actually brought an entire TV studio to their office, hosted it with a live studio audience.
02:07
It was so much fun and a great way to make your people feel connected.
02:11
Cde an incredibly successful business in Ireland.
02:14
I got to host their Kickoff Annual Kickoff.
02:17
That was a lot of fun.
02:17
Visited our friends at atc.
02:19
They helped us get involved in one of our philanthropic team building programs.
02:22
And then an absolute huge, honor for me was to host the Pendulum Summit in Dublin with some of the biggest thought leaders in the world, including Brenny Brown, Rory Sutherland, Marc, Randolph, the original founder of Netflix.
02:37
It was so much fun.
02:38
Follow me on LinkedIn if you want to stay in touch with everywhere that I'm off to now.
02:43
Here's a couple of posts that you may not have seen.
02:45
This one was a really popular one over the course of the last month or two about the importance of being flexible, agile and being teachable in everything that we do.
02:54
And here's one not a lot of people watch, but I think is really powerful lessons.
02:59
I'm not great all the time at giving feedback, to be honest.
03:02
It's something that I definitely need to get better at.
03:04
This video is some of the best science that I know, originally from Harvard, that you can use to get, get away.
03:10
Also, I'm the absolute world's biggest fan of the Traders.
03:13
If you're not watching it, I'm so sorry we can't be friends.
03:15
I realize it's absolute trash tv.
03:17
It's a guilty pleasure, but I will take it.
03:19
And why not catch up on one of my more recent articles from Forbes.
03:23
You can see that on Forbes.com, it's specifically about how leaders can guide high when lots of change is happening.
03:29
And if you'd like to book me to speak at an event, then all you need to do is go onto my website, fill out the little form, and we'll have a call in a couple days about how we can explore whether or not I'm a good fit for you.
03:40
But for now I need to head off to Orlando.
03:43
